Halfway between a hostel and a shared apartment, coliving is an accommodation for a minimum of one week, where you share common facilities (dormitory, bathroom, kitchen, garden) with other colivers, creating a community.
Access to the common kitchen, equipped with basic products (oils, spices, salt…), access to the living room, garden, terrace, and coworking space, 24/7; bedding is provided (sheets, pillow, pillow cases), as well as towels. Coffee and tea are also available unlimited. A washing machine, detergent, and outdoor dryer are available to you at no extra charge. Cleaning and washing of sheets and towels are also included and managed by us.
At the moment, only a dormitory is offered at the coliving. Rather than bunk beds as often seen in hostels, we have created eleven wooden cabins, inspired by boats, offering a comparable level of privacy to a bedroom. Once the door to your cabine is closed, you are in your own space. Eight cabins have a single bed, and three (more spacious) have a double bed.
In the top-level cabins, you can stand upright, while in the low-level ones you have to crouch. The cabins are designed for sleeping; during the day, you have access to the large spaces of the living room, coworking space, garden…
Having tried them all, we can assure you that you’ll sleep very well in them!
A supermarket (Carrefour Market), open every day of the week, is located less than ten minutes’ walk from Les Briques. Two bakeries and a small grocery store can be found within a fifteen-minute walk (or three minutes by bike).
It’s not mandatory at all. The official language at the coliving is English. Museums around are used to international visitors so they speak English, and in our Lion-sur-Mer beautiful town, most of the places can speak a little bit of English as they usully have English tourists during summer ;) .
Stays are 100% refundable up to four weeks before arrival. Between two and four weeks, they are 50% refundable. Less than two weeks before arrival, they are non-refundable.
Don’t worry, the precise cancellation conditions are recalled at each step during a booking request.
You can cancel your stay autonomously from the booking management page, or by sending us an email.
At the moment, for allergy and organization reasons, we are unfortunately unable to accept pets.
The Briques coliving is aimed at nomadic workers looking for a community for a few weeks. We cannot currently accept families, as it may disturb the other colivers.
Not at all! It is entirely possible to come to us by public transport, as explained here. Once here, you can do most things on foot (go to the beach, cinema, grocery shopping…). However, a car will allow you to travel further away and explore the region and nearby towns more deeply. A bicycle is also an interesting option if you have the opportunity to bring one.
Cabins are ready from 3pm on the day of your arrival. However, it’s possible to arrive earlier and access all common areas (but you may need to wait a bit before accessing your cabin).
On the day of your departure, you need to leave the cabin by 11am. You can stay in the common areas until the evening.
The minimum stay duration is one week (7 nights). Why? Because community is at the heart of coliving, and it’s difficult to create meaningful connections in less than a week.
It is possible to come to us by car, public transport (train and bus), bicycle (cycle route), and even by boat (from England)! Everything is explained in detail here.
It depends on what you are looking for, but we are open all year round, and each season has its activities! In the summer, you can enjoy the sea (catamaran, beach volleyball, paddle, kayak…), while the winters are calmer and you can work or rest by the fire in one of Briques’ three stoves, walk along the D-Day beaches, or relax at the spa in Luc-sur-Mer. The D-Day museums are open all year round.
Absolutely, there is a tea room open to the public! It is in the same building as the coliving but in a dedicated room. When it is open (five days a week, all year round), you can of course enjoy it. Depending on the time of day, brunch, snacks, lunches or dinners are offered, with the menu changing daily.
Exactly, a separate building (but on the same site) houses a wood studio and its machinery for carpentry. When it opens (at the end of the year), courses in woodworking and support for projects will be offered. But for now, the interior design is still being finalized and it is not yet possible to enjoy it.
Yes, at Les Briques you’ll find two garden and two terraces: on the north and east of the house. Tables, chairs and plaids are at your disposable to eat, relax or work outside (the Wi‑Fi is covering the outdoor spaces).
